Summer arrives in Western Australia in sun-washed golds, coastal blues and the sandy neutrals of long days by the water. At the State Buildings, the season is an invitation: long lunches, cool spritzes and open-air moments to linger in the centre of the city.

A playful installation marks the entrances, inspired by the colours and textures of a WA beach day. In the Postal Hall, a canopy of oversized patterns, reminiscent of beach towels, huts or shade cloths, brings warmth and nostalgia to the room. A hint of coastline reimagined for the city. Matching limited-edition gift wrapping at Edicole is available to carry a piece of the season home.

Whether it’s an icy drink, a new seasonal dish or a browse for something thoughtful, the State Buildings celebrates summer with an unmistakably Western Australian spirit.
