Transport and Parking Options

  • Location

Cathedral Square is located within the heart of Perth’s CBD. The precinct is bordered by Hay Street, Barrack Street, St Georges Terrace and Pier Street, and can easily be reached by train, bus, bike and car.

Cathedral Avenue runs through the centre of the precinct and accessible by both St Georges Terrace and Hay Street. The grassed plaza sits between the State Buildings, City of Perth Library and St George’s Cathedral.

The precinct is also within walking distance from major Perth attractions including the Perth Concert Hall, Government House, Art Gallery of Western Australia, Western Australian Museum and the city’s urban cultural hub, Northbridge.

  • Valet Parking

Valet parking is available to patrons visiting the State Buildings and Cathedral Square Precinct. Parking is accessed via Cathedral Avenue, conveniently located in front of COMO The Treasury.

  • Car Parks

Wilson Parking (Kings Complex) is located off Pier and Hay Street, directly east of Cathedral Square (open Mon-Sun 24 hours).

City of Perth Parking (CPP Council House) is located on St Georges Terrace, underneath Council House (open Mon-Sat 6.00am-1.00am, Sun 7.30am-1.00am).

For more information on parking visit the City of Perth Parking website.

  • Public Transport

There are three train stations nearby – The Esplanade, Perth Underground and Perth Station, all within walking distance.

If you are travelling in and out of the city on a Transperth bus, most stops terminate at either Wellington Street or Elizabeth Quay Bus Stations. Both stations are only a short walk to Cathedral Square.

To plan your journey please visit the Transperth website.

Free CAT buses operate daily within the city. The CAT buses have four routes covering all parts of the city. CAT bus stops have real-time passenger information that tell you when the next bus is due. The CAT bus timetable is available on the Transperth website.
